How Spotlight and the Billboard work

Choose a 30-day Spotlight or Billboard placement for your product or project.

Choose the placement that fits your project

Spotlight promotes an approved product from the directory. The Billboard can promote any website or project independently: add your URL, name and logo, with no directory listing or battle entry required. An account is needed to book and manage your ad. You can also reuse one of your published products.

A paid placement promotes your product to people browsing MegaLaunch. It does not add community votes, qualify a product for a final or change a competitive result. Pro Launch is a different purchase, focused on the presentation of a specific launch.

Spotlight: a visible place for 30 days

Spotlight costs $9.99 for 30 days at launch, without automatic renewal. Active sponsors appear in the sticky sidebar on discovery pages and in the rotating strip on other pages or smaller screens. The placement is identified as sponsored. Visitors can pause the strip and open the product website through its link.

Your placement activates after payment is confirmed. If a payment is still being verified, your dashboard may ask you to refresh. The website must still be approved and the campaign active to appear. When the campaign ends, the product keeps its ordinary directory page.

Billboard: choose your space for thirty days

The Billboard is a grid of 200 pixel units. Choose a 1 × 1 block for $5, a 2 × 2 block for $20 or a 3 × 3 block for $45. Each purchase lasts thirty days. Larger blocks give the product more visible space on the same board; they do not buy votes.

The five largest supporters appear below the grid. The ranking adds together the active pixel units occupied by each product. A 3 × 3 block counts as nine units. Expand the card to browse the rest of the sponsors. A reserved block is temporarily unavailable to other buyers while checkout is in progress. A cancelled checkout does not activate a placement.

How traffic is measured

Spotlight and Billboard cards do not display view or click totals. For placements linked to a directory product, product-page views and outbound clicks are still recorded. These are all-time product totals, not campaign-attributed visitors. Repeated events are approximately deduplicated by product, event, address and hour. Independent Billboard ads link directly to their website.

Looking at a Billboard block does not count as visiting a product page. Demo numbers are explicitly marked and are not real traffic. Free and Premium product pages include website links without nofollow or sponsored attributes. Advertising placements use sponsored links without nofollow. No purchase guarantees Domain Rating or a search ranking increase.
