MCP server
The MegaLaunch MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients search published products, recent launches, the leaderboard and the daily Top 3. No key, no account.
The server gives an assistant direct access to the MegaLaunch catalog, so it can answer with real listings instead of guesses, each with a link to its MegaLaunch page.
https://megalaun.ch/api/mcpAdd the server once, then ask your questions in plain words. The server name in every config is megalaunch.
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http megalaunch https://megalaun.ch/api/mcpThen type /mcp in Claude Code to check that megalaunch is connected.
https://megalaun.ch/api/mcp. No OAuth client id or secret is needed.A connector added on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add it for the organization first.
Add the server to .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project:
{
"mcpServers": {
"megalaunch": {
"url": "https://megalaun.ch/api/mcp"
}
}
}Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace, then use its tools from Copilot Chat in agent mode:
{
"servers": {
"megalaunch": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://megalaun.ch/api/mcp"
}
}
}Another client? Any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP works with the URL above, without headers or keys.
Each tool returns JSON, and every product in a result carries its megalaunchUrl. The examples are questions the tool answers on its own.
| Tool | What it returns | Inputs | Example question |
|---|---|---|---|
search_products | Searches published products by text, category, pricing model and platform. | querycategorypricingplatformsortlimitcursor | “Find free developer tools on MegaLaunch for writing changelogs.” |
get_product | Returns the full public details of one product. | slug | “Get the MegaLaunch details of example-app: pricing, platforms, votes and awards.” |
list_categories | Lists the MegaLaunch categories. | None | “Which categories can I browse on MegaLaunch?” |
latest_launches | Products published in the last 1 to 30 days, by category or platform. | dayscategoryplatformlimit | “Which iOS apps launched on MegaLaunch in the last 7 days?” |
leaderboard | Products ranked by community votes today, this week, this month or all time. | periodlimit | “Which products got the most votes on MegaLaunch this week?” |
daily_winners | The frozen daily Top 3 podiums, newest day first. | limit | “Which products finished in the daily Top 3 on MegaLaunch recently?” |
The same data is available over HTTP: see the API endpoints.
No tool or endpoint creates, edits or votes for anything.
30 tool calls per minute per IP address. Product lists return up to 20 items per call. Tool calls read live data, never a cached copy.
Link each product you show to its megalaunchUrl.
Results never include sponsored placements, and paid options never change votes, scores or rankings.
No account, no key and no personal data are needed to use the server. Tool calls return public catalog data only, and the rate limit counts calls per IP address.
