What each site is for
Toolify is a catalogue of AI products, organised so that a visitor can narrow a search down to a precise job. Its size on the day of the check: 31,183 AIs in 459 categories, per its homepage4. Its submit page also draws a clear line on what gets in: AI tools and GPTs; a tool that does not use AI is not approved2. A product whose AI is a small feature inside something larger may not pass that filter, and Toolify says so plainly.
MegaLaunch is a launch platform. Its format, from the pricing page: A permanent listing, with a daily, weekly and monthly leaderboard1. AI products launch there next to SaaS, apps and developer tools, and the launch itself is a public event: people vote, comment and come back to the leaderboard. A listing on Toolify is built to be found months later by someone with a task; a launch on MegaLaunch is built to be seen this week by people who like trying new things.
Toolify publishes its own audience figures: 5.1M+ monthly visits and 700K+ subscribers, as claimed on its submit page2. MegaLaunch has not measured them, no licensed traffic source was used here, and neither side gets a traffic row. The visits your own listing receives are the only number that should decide whether you renew a budget line or not.
Pricing: one Toolify fee, two MegaLaunch options
Toolify keeps its offer simple. The only listing product is Submit AI, $99 one-time2. Is there a free route? None shown on its submit page2. The fee is paid once and the listing stays2, so it is closer to buying a permanent shelf space than to running an ad.
MegaLaunch has two doors. The free one costs no money: the listing goes live 48 hours after submission, with a link back to MegaLaunch on your site1. The paid one is Premium, $4.99 one-time (excl. VAT): live once payment is confirmed1. It adds launch day visibility (a highlighted homepage card, the weekly newsletter, a post on X) without touching the vote count, because the ranking rule is fixed: One vote per person; paid options never change votes or rankings5. The details of both plans are on the pricing page.
The cheapest paid listing costs less on MegaLaunch ($4.99 excl. VAT) than on Toolify2, and the free MegaLaunch listing costs a link back rather than money. A fair reading has to add what the Toolify fee includes that MegaLaunch does not sell at all, starting with translated listing text, covered below.
A simple way to judge any one-time listing fee: divide it by what one paying customer is worth to you over their lifetime. If one customer covers it, a listing that brings a single sale has paid for itself; if you need dozens, measure the first one before buying more of the same kind.
Review and time to go live
Toolify reads every tool before publishing it2, and states this timing: Listed within 48 hours of payment, no queue2. Its FAQ names the usual reasons for a refusal: a tool that does not use AI, or explicit adult content2.
The two sites both use a 48-hour figure, but it does not mean the same thing. On Toolify the clock starts once you have paid. On MegaLaunch it applies to the free plan and starts at submission, with no payment: Free: 48 hours after submission. Premium: live as soon as payment is confirmed1. Free listings on MegaLaunch are still moderated, Matt can decline or postpone one that breaks the moderation rules, and paying never skips that review.
Use the waiting time well on either site. Check your tagline and description with the headline and tagline analyzer before you submit, because a listing is easier to get right the first time than to correct after it has been indexed.
Links: what “at least 6 dofollow links” means
Toolify writes a link promise into its offer: At least 6 dofollow links to your site, as stated2. On the listing checked for this page, the visit buttons matched it: Followed: the links to the tool carry rel="dofollow", no nofollow3. The submit page does not say where all six links sit, and links written inside the description of that listing carried nofollow, so count on the visit buttons rather than on every URL in your text.
A note on the word itself: "dofollow" is not an attribute search engines define. A link is followed when it carries none of the qualifiers that ask search engines to discount it (nofollow, sponsored or ugc), so a rel value of "dofollow" behaves like a plain followed link. That is the reading applied to both sides of the table.
MegaLaunch states one followed link per listing: Free listing: a followed link to your site (no nofollow or sponsored attribute)1. The free plan asks for a link back to MegaLaunch on your site in return, and Premium does not1. Toolify asks for nothing on your site: Not required; a Toolify certification embed is offered2.
Domain Rating is not compared, because it could not be read on Ahrefs for both sites on the same day. Whatever the rating, a directory link is a modest signal; Do directory submissions help SEO? explains why, and the referral traffic worksheet shows how to judge a listing on the visits and signups it sends.
Listings in more than one language
This is the clearest difference in what the fees buy. Toolify offers this with every listing: Listing text translated into other languages by Toolify AI2. You choose between letting Toolify write the text or writing the English version yourself and letting it translate.
Its site menu offered ten languages on the day of the check2, among them Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French. MegaLaunch pages are published in English only. If a meaningful share of your buyers search in one of those languages, a translated listing gives you pages that an English-only launch cannot. If your product itself is English-only, the translated pages may bring visitors who leave at your homepage, so check where your signups come from before treating translations as a deciding factor.
Refunds
Toolify’s promise covers the case that matters most: Full, automatic refund if the tool is not published2. Its FAQ is equally clear that it cannot guarantee sales or traffic once the tool is listed2.
MegaLaunch’s refund policy works on the same principle: a paid service that has not started can be cancelled and refunded in full, and a product rejected by moderation before the paid service is delivered is refunded. A delivered listing is not refunded because it brought fewer visits, votes or sales than expected, on either site.
What Toolify does better
- Translated listings: the text is written or translated into other languages by Toolify2, which MegaLaunch does not offer.
- A link promise in writing: at least six dofollow links, as stated on its submit page2, and the listing checked matched it on its visit buttons.
- A catalogue cut into fine categories (459 on the day of the check4), which suits buyers who search for a precise job.
- Nothing to add to your site: no badge or link back is required2, where a free MegaLaunch listing needs a link back.
What MegaLaunch does better
- A free listing with no payment at all, live 48 hours after submission once the link back is checked; Toolify shows no free route on its submit page.
- A lower price for the paid option: $4.99 one-time (excl. VAT) for Premium.
- Any product can launch, so a product whose AI is one feature among others is not turned away for that reason.
- A public launch day with votes and comments, ranked by a rule anyone can check: one vote per person, and paid options never change votes or rankings.
Who should pick which
Choose MegaLaunch if
- You want feedback from makers and early adopters on launch day, in comments and votes.
- You want to start for free and can add a link back, or pay $4.99 excl. VAT to skip the wait.
- Your product is not strictly an AI tool, or AI is only part of what it does.
- You will launch again after each major release and want each launch seen as an event.
Choose Toolify if
- Your product is clearly an AI tool or a GPT, and buyers look for it by the task it performs.
- Some of your buyers search in languages other than English and your product serves them.
- You want a written dofollow promise and no badge or link on your own site.
- A single one-time fee fits your budget and you prefer a listing that keeps working without a launch day.

Frequently asked questions
Is Toolify AI free?
Not for makers: its submit page shows no free route2. The only listing product is Submit AI, $99 one-time2. If you want a free listing, MegaLaunch’s free plan goes live 48 hours after submission with a link back on your site.
How much does Toolify charge to list a tool?
Its submit page shows one price: $99 one-time2. Its FAQ describes it as a single payment, after which the listing never expires2.
Is Toolify AI legit?
It publishes its price, reviews every submitted tool by hand and refunds a tool that is not published (Full, automatic refund if the tool is not published2). The listing checked for this page carried followed links, as its offer states. Its audience figures are its own claims, so tag your listing link and measure what it sends.
What is Toolify AI?
A directory of AI tools and GPTs that visitors search by task and category. Its size on the day of the check: 31,183 AIs in 459 categories, per its homepage4. Makers pay a one-time fee to be listed; it is a catalogue, not a launch platform with votes.
How long does Toolify take to list a tool?
Its submit page states: Listed within 48 hours of payment, no queue2. Every tool is reviewed by hand first, and a refused tool is refunded.
Methodology and sources
Every fact about Toolify was read on its own site on 24 October 2026: the submit page and its FAQ (price, free option, timing, review, refund, link promise, translations, accepted products and audience claims) and the homepage (catalogue size). The site answered automated requests with an error that day, so the pages were read in a regular browser and each value was copied as displayed. The link row comes from the HTML of a public listing, /tool/panopulse: the rel attribute of the links to the listed tool.
MegaLaunch’s values are read from its code (the launch plan constants and the site rules) when the page is built, and a live MegaLaunch product page checked the same day showed a followed link to the maker’s site (rel noopener, no nofollow). Matt, who builds MegaLaunch, wrote this comparison.
Left out on purpose: Domain Rating, because the Ahrefs checker could not be read for both sites on the same day; traffic, because no licensed source was used, so Toolify’s figures appear only as its own claims. Advertising products on both sites (Toolify’s pay-per-click and featured placements, MegaLaunch’s Spotlight and Billboard) are not compared here.
MegaLaunch’s prices are shown excl. VAT, as everywhere on its site: tax is added at checkout based on the buyer’s country. Other platforms’ prices are quoted as displayed on their own sites, which do not always say whether tax is included, so a MegaLaunch price and another price on this page may not be on the same tax basis. Compare the totals each checkout shows before you pay.

Shown on the submit page as "Multi-language intro"; you can also write the English text yourself. The site menu offered 10 languages that day. Its FAQ also says it cannot guarantee sales or traffic.
