TinyLaunch alternatives for indie makers
LaunchIgniter, OpenHunts, Smol Launch and Open-Launch work most like TinyLaunch: a free slot tied to a badge, a podium or a long queue, and a paid launch that costs less than TinyLaunch Premium. Uneed suits a free daily launch, DevHunt suits developer tools, Product Hunt suits makers with an audience, and MegaLaunch adds a permanent listing.
MegaLaunch publishes this page and is one of the options. Facts checked on 24 Oct 2026, sources below. How this page was checked

Why makers look for a TinyLaunch alternative
TinyLaunch is a launch board for indie products: launches are ranked and the top 3 receive badges1. The free route is a Standard Launch in the standard launch queue2, and the paid route is Premium Launch, $39 per launch: skips the queue2. The guide TinyLaunch publishes for AI agents gives the timing of each one: Free: about 4 weeks for a spot in the weekly queue. Premium: launch next Monday3.
The backlink is where most comparisons start. TinyLaunch’s homepage states the condition plainly: Dofollow when you embed its badge with a dofollow link to TinyLaunch1. Its pricing page reserves the free plan’s high-authority backlink and badge for the top 3 ranking products, while Premium includes a guaranteed one2. Launching itself does not require the badge2: the badge is the price of the followed link.
So makers usually leave for one of four reasons: the wait does not fit their date, they do not want a badge on their site, they cannot count on finishing in the weekly top 3, or the audience they need is somewhere else. The alternatives below are ordered by how closely they match TinyLaunch’s model first, then by audience. Every fact was read on each platform’s own pages and carries a numbered source with its check date. Matt, who builds MegaLaunch, wrote this comparison and includes MegaLaunch in it, with its limits.
What TinyLaunch listing links looked like on the day of the check
Link statements are worth checking against real pages. On the day of the check, the link to the product was followed on one sampled TinyLaunch listing and on a Premium launch, while two other listings carried nofollow4. That is consistent with the conditions above: the followed link is earned with a podium finish and the badge, or bought with Premium. It is not given to every free launch.
A quick way to see what you got: once your listing is live, right-click the link to your site and choose Inspect. A rel value of nofollow, ugc or sponsored marks the link; no such value means it is followed. Look again after the launch week, when the podium is known, because on boards that reward the top 3 the answer can depend on the final ranking.

The alternatives, one by one
LaunchIgniter
Best for: The closest match to TinyLaunch’s model, with a cheaper paid launch.
LaunchIgniter runs on the same weekly rhythm, from Monday 00:00 UTC, with a Winner badge for the top 35. A free launch is reviewed by hand and needs its badge on your product homepage5, and the free date is not guaranteed. The paid route is Basic Launch, $12 one-time: guaranteed date, no review queue5.
The link terms mirror TinyLaunch’s (Free: dofollow for the weekly top 3 only. Basic: a lifetime dofollow link5), so the free route rewards makers who can bring votes during their week. One rule matters if you plan to relaunch after a big update: each product can launch only once5. Treat that single launch as the version of the product you want people to remember.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on a sampled listing19
OpenHunts
Best for: A Monday launch, if you will either wait a long time or add its badge.
OpenHunts runs weekly launches on Mondays, with seven days on the homepage6. Free launches are limited6, and the wait is long by its own count: Free: about 60 weeks, or add its badge to skip. Premium: the following Monday6. The badge is optional, but it is the way to move forward in that line6.
The paid route is Premium Launch, $9.9: the following Monday, no badge6. As at TinyLaunch, a free launch only earns a dofollow link with a podium finish (Free: dofollow for the top 3 only. Premium: guaranteed dofollow6). If you were about to buy TinyLaunch Premium for a Monday slot, this is the same idea at a lower price, with an audience you should look at yourself before paying.
- Link type observed
- Varies: followed on one sampled listing, nofollow on two others20
Smol Launch
Best for: Makers who will vote for other launches to earn a free verified slot.
Smol Launch also runs a weekly launch, ranked by votes and engagement7. Its free path asks for more than a badge: a Free Verified launch needs the badge on your site and votes on 3 other launches7. Free slots are capped, and the line was long on the day of the check (Free: 50 verified slots a week, next free week shown as Dec 28. Premium: this week7).
The paid route is Premium, $19 per launch: any open week, no badge7, and the link depends on the path you take (Dofollow once your site is verified with the badge; Basic Free stays nofollow7). One detail sets it apart from TinyLaunch, where Premium launches get a showcase spot: Free and paid launches share one weekly ranking; Featured Spots are ads outside it7. A paid launch buys a date and the link, not a better position.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings21
Open-Launch
Best for: A paid launch as soon as tomorrow, without any queue.
Open-Launch is daily rather than weekly, with launches at 8:00 AM UTC and a daily top 38. Its free plan is still on the pricing page, but the calendar makes it theoretical for now (Free: booked into 2027. Premium: as early as tomorrow8).
That leaves the paid route: Premium Launch, $12: launch tomorrow, 10 slots a day8. The link terms follow TinyLaunch’s pattern for free launches and drop the conditions for paid ones (Free: dofollow only in the daily top 3 with its badge. Premium: guaranteed dofollow8). A daily board gives you one day in front of visitors instead of a week, so plan to be available on the launch day itself.
- Link type observed
- Nofollow on a sampled listing22
Uneed
Best for: A free daily launch where votes, not a badge, earn the link.
Uneed runs daily launches, and its homepage says the daily Top 3 win badges9. The free route puts you at the back of a line, with the date assigned by Uneed10. The cheapest paid option is Fast-track, $14.99: a slot in about 14 days10.
Its link condition is a score rather than a badge: Do-follow from an upvote score of 20 on the free line, 10 with Fast-track10. That suits makers who would rather ask their first users for votes than place another badge on their site. Prepare those people before the date, since the same pricing page also ties staying published to a minimum score10.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings23
MicroLaunch
Best for: A paid launch with a month of visibility instead of a week.
MicroLaunch spreads a launch over a longer window: A launch with 30 days of visibility, ranked monthly11. Its public pages do not describe a free launch11, so plan on the paid route: Launch Pro, $39: pick your launch date11.
The paid plan states its link plainly (Do-follow backlinks with Launch Pro11), and its Premium page mentions no badge11. At the same price as TinyLaunch Premium, the choice comes down to the audience and the window: a month gives you more time to collect feedback than a week, if you keep showing up.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings24
PeerPush
Best for: Makers who want awards over a longer window than one week.
PeerPush pairs product discovery with daily, weekly and monthly awards12. Free submissions wait in a launch queue and stay hidden until their slot12, and PeerPush itself says that queue can be long.
The cheapest paid route is Standard Launch, $39, published instantly12, the same price as TinyLaunch Premium. The difference is timing: PeerPush publishes a paid launch at once, while TinyLaunch Premium waits for the next Monday. Pick by when you want the first visitors to arrive.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings25
Fazier
Best for: A daily listing, when a link back to Fazier is acceptable.
Fazier publishes daily product listings14. Its free Basic plan is reviewed and listed within 30 days, with a condition attached: a backlink to Fazier on your homepage or footer14.
The paid route is Lite, $29: publish now or schedule, no backlink required14. The free trade looks like TinyLaunch’s, something on your site in exchange for value, but it works the other way round: Fazier asks for the link back to list you at all, while TinyLaunch asks for its badge only to make your link followed.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings26
DevHunt
Best for: Developer tools that want a launch week and a newsletter spot.
DevHunt launches developer tools by the week, with a Tuesday newsletter15. Listing is free15, and the cheapest paid launch is Launch, $19: pick your week, a newsletter spot and a dofollow link15.
The link is stated without a badge or vote condition: A permanent dofollow link with the $19 Launch15. If your product is an API, a command line tool or a library, a week in front of developers can teach you more than a general board, provided you are around to answer technical questions as they come.
- Link type observed
- Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings27
Peerlist Launchpad
Best for: Verified Peerlist members who want a week-long launch.
Peerlist Launchpad opens a weekly launch every Monday, for verified profiles only16. Projects are ranked on an aggregate score of upvotes, comments, views, link visits and traction16, not on votes alone.
Only the top 5 projects of the week get a backlink16, and its help center does not state a price for launching16. It fits makers who already use Peerlist; for everyone else, the verified profile is the first step.
- Link type observed
- Visit link marked ugc on a sampled project page28
Product Hunt
Best for: Makers who can bring an audience on a day they choose.
Product Hunt runs daily launches on a homepage leaderboard, with a Product of the Day17. Its launch guide says launching is free17, and there is no queue: you pick the day, and the guide suggests 12:01 am Pacific Time17.
That removes the main constraint of TinyLaunch’s free plan, but it adds competition: a day there rewards preparation and an existing audience. One sensible sequence is a smaller board first, to fix the page and the pitch, then a Product Hunt date once the first visitors stop getting stuck.
- Link type observed
- Visit website link marked ugc on a sampled product page29
MegaLaunch
Best for: A permanent listing that goes live in 48 hours, free or paid once.
MegaLaunch lists products permanently, with a community vote and a daily, weekly and monthly leaderboard18. A Free listing goes live 48 hours after submission18. Premium costs $4.99 one-time (excl. VAT) and goes live once payment is confirmed18.
Like TinyLaunch’s free plan, MegaLaunch’s Free listing asks for something on your site: a link back to MegaLaunch, which Premium does not need18. In return, the link to your site carries no nofollow or sponsored attribute, with no podium to win first18, and paid options never change the vote30.
Matt builds MegaLaunch, so this page cannot rank it neutrally against the others. It is listed because it answers two of the reasons people leave TinyLaunch, the wait and the top 3 condition, not because it suits every product. Look at the pricing page and a few live listings before you decide.
Which TinyLaunch alternatives give a dofollow link without a badge?
On launch boards, a free followed link almost always comes with a condition. The table puts each platform’s stated terms next to what one public listing showed on the day of the check. Each sampled listing is one product on one day, and it may have paid or won its week, so treat that column as the terms in action rather than a forecast for your own launch.
Read across and a pattern appears. Free routes ask for a badge (TinyLaunch, LaunchIgniter, Open-Launch, Smol Launch), a podium finish (TinyLaunch, LaunchIgniter, OpenHunts, Open-Launch, Peerlist Launchpad) or a vote score (Uneed). Paid routes remove the condition for a fee. None of the free routes in this table states an unconditional dofollow link.
PeerPush, Fazier and Product Hunt do not state link terms on the pages checked. Their sampled listings showed a followed link at PeerPush25 and Fazier26, and a link marked ugc at Product Hunt29, a hint search engines treat much like nofollow.
Count the badges before you commit. Each one is a visible element on your site and an outbound link you have to keep in place; a couple in a footer is easy to live with, while a long row of them says more about your marketing than about your product. If you would rather add none, the paid routes of LaunchIgniter, OpenHunts, Open-Launch and Smol Launch drop the badge. And keep the stakes in proportion: a launch link is one signal among many, as the article on whether directory submissions help SEO explains.
| Platform | Link terms, as stated | Seen on a sampled listing |
|---|---|---|
| TinyLaunch | Dofollow when you embed its badge with a dofollow link to TinyLaunch1 | Varies: followed on 2 sampled launches, nofollow on 2 others4 |
| LaunchIgniter | Free: dofollow for the weekly top 3 only. Basic: a lifetime dofollow link5 | Followed (no nofollow) on a sampled listing19 |
| OpenHunts | Free: dofollow for the top 3 only. Premium: guaranteed dofollow6 | Varies: followed on one sampled listing, nofollow on two others20 |
| Smol Launch | Dofollow once your site is verified with the badge; Basic Free stays nofollow7 | Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings21 |
| Open-Launch | Free: dofollow only in the daily top 3 with its badge. Premium: guaranteed dofollow8 | Nofollow on a sampled listing22 |
| Uneed | Do-follow from an upvote score of 20 on the free line, 10 with Fast-track10 | Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings23 |
| MicroLaunch | Do-follow backlinks with Launch Pro11 | Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings24 |
| DevHunt | A permanent dofollow link with the $19 Launch15 | Followed (no nofollow) on 3 sampled listings27 |
| Peerlist Launchpad | A backlink for the top 5 projects of the week only16 | Visit link marked ugc on a sampled project page28 |
Stated terms quote each platform’s own pages. Sampled links were read in the HTML of one public listing per platform on the day of the check.
TinyLaunch’s 110-directory package, and what to compare it with
TinyLaunch also sells a done-for-you submission service (One package: 110 directories, $279 one-time31). Its page says the team submits by hand31, and the timing is short: A report within a week; about 10 days in all31. It also writes down a DR floor: A minimum DR by starting point within 2 months (from DR 0 to 10: DR 15 to 20)31. The remedy if it is missed: More work or a full refund if the DR minimum is missed after 2 months31.
The same page is frank about two limits: A detailed submission report, without links to live listings31, and acceptance by each directory is not guaranteed. The package also includes a launch on TinyLaunch itself: A Premium Launch coupon ($39 value) with the 110-directory package31.
If the launch board was never the point and you mainly want listings, compare the package with dedicated services on the same basis: the price for about 100 directories, the method as each service states it, and what each report proves. A report that lists submissions is not the same as one that lists live links with their attributes.
Other directory submission services
The GetMoreBacklinks alternatives page compares the services that were taking orders on the day of the check, TinyLaunch’s package included, on those criteria. MegaLaunch sells its own directory submission service, submitted by hand with no badge needed on your site.
How to choose: six situations
Start from your constraint, not from the platform list. Most makers fit one of these cases:
- No budget and no badge on your site: Uneed’s free line, where votes earn the link.
- No budget, and a badge is fine: LaunchIgniter or Smol Launch, then work for the weekly top 3.
- A small budget and a date that matters: the paid launches of OpenHunts, Open-Launch or LaunchIgniter.
- A developer tool: DevHunt, or Peerlist Launchpad if you already keep a verified profile.
- An audience ready to show up: Product Hunt, on a day you choose.
- A listing that keeps working after launch week: MegaLaunch, Free or Premium.
When TinyLaunch is still the right choice
TinyLaunch stays a good choice when its weekly rhythm suits you. If you can wait about four weeks for a free slot, or pay for a launch the next Monday3, and you can bring people to vote during that week, the free route gives you a week on the board and a chance at the podium for nothing.
Premium makes sense when the guaranteed backlink matters more than the date: the pricing page promises a high-authority backlink and a regular showcase between the 3rd and 4th places2. If you launch through an AI agent, TinyLaunch documents that path too, with an agent guide and a launch API3.
Choose an alternative when the queue does not fit your date, when you do not want a badge on your site, or when the audience you need is elsewhere. Running two launches a few weeks apart, one on a weekly board and one on a daily board, is a reasonable way to learn which audience responds. Give each launch its own campaign link, made with the free UTM builder, so the visits of the two stay apart in your analytics.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to TinyLaunch?
It depends on what you want to avoid. For the same weekly format with a cheaper paid launch, LaunchIgniter and OpenHunts are the closest. For a free launch without a badge, Uneed ties the link to votes instead. DevHunt suits developer tools, and Product Hunt suits makers who already have an audience.
Is TinyLaunch free?
Yes. The Standard Launch is free and waits in the weekly queue, which TinyLaunch’s agent guide puts at about four weeks. Premium costs $39 per launch and launches the next Monday. On the free plan, the badge and the high-authority backlink go to the top 3 only.
Does TinyLaunch give a dofollow backlink?
Conditionally. Its homepage says the dofollow link is granted when you embed its badge with a dofollow link back to TinyLaunch, and its pricing page reserves the free plan’s backlink for the top 3. Premium includes a guaranteed high-authority backlink. On the day of the check, sampled listings showed both followed and nofollow links.
How long is the TinyLaunch queue?
TinyLaunch’s agent guide says a free launch happens in about four weeks, once a spot in the free queue opens. Premium skips the queue and launches the next Monday. LaunchIgniter, OpenHunts and Open-Launch sell paid launches under $20 that also give you a fixed date.
Is TinyLaunch worth it?
It is worth it if a week on a ranked board fits your plan and you can bring votes, since the free route only costs time. Premium at $39 buys a date and a guaranteed backlink; compare it with the paid launches of LaunchIgniter, OpenHunts and Open-Launch, which cost less. This page gives no rating: judge by your own launch results.
Methodology and sources
Every third-party fact was read on the platform’s own pages on 24 October 2026: pricing pages, FAQs, terms, launch guides and help centers, plus, for TinyLaunch, its agent guide (llms.txt) and its submission service page. Link types were read in the HTML of public listing pages the same day: a sample, not a census. Prices are in US dollars as displayed, with any struck price in the source notes.
Domain Ratings are left out. Several platforms print their own figure, but none was read on Ahrefs for this page, so no column would compare them on the same basis. Ratings, traffic and acceptance rates are not given either, because no platform publishes comparable figures. MegaLaunch’s values are read from its own code, so they always match its pricing page.
MegaLaunch’s prices are shown excl. VAT, as everywhere on its site: tax is added at checkout based on the buyer’s country. Other platforms’ prices are quoted as displayed on their own sites, which do not always say whether tax is included, so a MegaLaunch price and another price on this page may not be on the same tax basis. Compare the totals each checkout shows before you pay.
