Plan a launch day across time zones
A launch is a day of conversations: people discover your product, ask questions, vote, and share it. You want to be awake and available for as much of that day as possible, and your team needs to agree on what “9 a.m.” means when half of it lives in another country. The planner turns one date and time into every zone at once.
1. Start from the platform day
On MegaLaunch, a launch day is a UTC calendar day, from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC. The timeline shows where your chosen time falls in that day and how many hours are left. The last column of the table converts the whole UTC day into each zone, so you can see, for example, that it starts in the afternoon of the day before on the US west coast.
2. Pick the hours you can cover
Choose a window where you can answer comments within minutes, not hours. If you are alone, that might be your own morning. If your team spans several zones, split the day in shifts and paste the copied summary in your team chat so nobody converts times by hand.
3. Think about your audience
Look at where your first users, newsletter readers or followers live. A product for European freelancers and one for US developers do not have the same peak hours. The table shows the local time for Pacific, Eastern, Central European and India time, plus your own zone when it is different.
4. Watch out for clock changes
Daylight saving time starts and ends on different dates in North America and Europe, so the gap between Eastern and Central European time is not the same all year. India does not change its clocks. The planner uses the offsets in force on the date you pick, so check the final plan once the date is fixed.
5. Keep an eye on the countdown
The two countdowns show the time left until your chosen moment and until the UTC launch day starts. Use them to schedule the last checks: your page, your links, your announcement post and the people you promised to notify.
Good practices
- Write launch times with their zone, for example 14:00 UTC.
- Prepare your posts the day before and keep your calendar free.
- Tag every shared link with the UTM builder and review the launch checklist the day before.
